Reality Bites
I was reading a blog about augmented (rather than autonomous) driving (https://www.eetimes.com/author.asp?section_id=36&doc_id=1334557) and it reminded me that as designers and engineers, we have a responsibility both for safety and for realistic expectations.
We tend to lament how marketing hypes what we're doing, but we also need to ensure that we're not doing the same thing. Personally, I can hardly wait for my own autonomous flying car, but I surely don't want one if it won't get me safely to my destination!
